Answer

  1. When the price per pound of beef was equal to the price per pound of chicken,

    b =c

    The following equation is established

    2.35+0.25x = 1.75+0.40x

    0.6 = 0.15x

    x = 4

    which means it took 4 months for the price of beef was equal to the price of chicken after July 1 during last summer.

    Plug in x in the first equation

    b=2.35+0.25\times x

    =3.35

    D is correct choice
